Incandescent Lava Has Just Been Seen On Mount Merapi

Poros Nasional. The Yogyakarta Institute of Geological Disaster Research and Development (BPPTKG) revealed that Mount Merapi issued an incandescent lava avalanche on Friday (11/23) at 19.05 WIB.

"Four times the lava drop leads to the opening of the crater, upstream of Gendol," BPPTKG wrote on its official Twitter account, Sunday (25/11).

This incandescent lava drop has a sliding distance of 300 meters.

"Low avalanche intensity with small material potential so that it has not endangered the population."

BPPTKG itself explained that lava avalanches had actually begun to occur since Thursday (11/22), but at that time the lava avalanches were still dominant to the northwest and still in the crater area.

The seismic activity of Mount Merapi recorded by BPPTKG is 28 times the Blowing earthquake (DG), two Shallow Volcanic earthquakes (VTB), two Many Phase earthquakes (MP), 261 earthquake drop (RF), 21 times earthquake Low Frequency (LF ) and four Tectonic earthquakes (TT).

Based on the activity data, the status of Mount Merapi is still at level II or alert. It's just that even so, people are advised not to do mountain climbing for a while.
