2018 National Teacher's Day, This Is the Story of Some Sad Teachers in Indonesia
Rakyat Utama. Indonesia commemorates 2018 National Teacher's Day today, Sunday (11/25/2018). Every year, the National Teacher's Day is commemorated every November 25, along with the day of the birth of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI).
National Teacher's Day is commemorated based on Presidential Decree Number 68 of 1994.
Since 1994, Teacher's Day has been officially commemorated.
The National Teachers' Day commemoration on November 25th is then confirmed by Law No. 14/2005 concerning teachers and lecturers.
The teacher is an unsung hero, who without hesitation gives his knowledge to students.
Even so, concerns are still common to them, even caused by students they provide knowledge.
1. Darmawati, Teacher at Parapare
In July 2017, Indonesia was shocked by the news of a teacher who was reported to the police by his student guardian.
He is Darmawati, a teacher at SMAN 3 Parepare, South Sulawesi.
When reminding his stubborn students to perform zuhr prayers, Darmawati then waved her face.
However, it is precisely about a student with the initials AY.
AY's parents apparently did not accept the incident, so they reported Darmawati to the police.
Although the post mortem results did not show any injuries to the student's body, Darmawati was still sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
2. Nurmayani was jailed for pinching students
Nurmayani, a Biology teacher at Bantaeng Junior High School 1, went to prison for pinching her students.
Even though he and his family apologized to the reporter's family, in fact they did not respond.
When he was behind bars, Nurmayani was reported to have experienced severe stress, causing diabetes to recur dry.
3. Redundant, Teacher in Sinjai
Rules in school require students to look neat, including hair.
If there are students who are stubborn and do not want to cut their hair, the teacher will certainly discipline them by cutting their hair.
Trying to discipline his students who are desperate to let his long hair, Mubazir, volunteer teacher at Sinjai South 2 Public High School, Sinjai District, South Sulawesi, end up in jail.
The student kept pushing away with his hand when his hair was about to be cut by Mubazir.
As it turned out, the scissors that Mubazir brought were scratching his hand.
Actually Mubazir has brought to UKS and treated the wound.
But who would have thought, the parents of the student named Saharudin had polished the redundant teacher.
4. Samhudi, Teacher in Sidoarjo
The case that befell Samhudi's teacher is also a concern at the national level.
The teacher at Raden Rahmat Middle School, Balongbendo, Sidoarjo, East Java, pinched his students who skipped dhuha prayers.
As a result of this action, Samhudi was reported to the police.
According to the Chief Judge, Rini Sesuni in the verdict on Thursday (04/08/2016), the defendant was proven to violate Article 80 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 Year 2014 concerning Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.
He was sentenced to 3 months in prison with a six-month probation period.
5. Teacher Ahmad Budi Cahyono Killed Tortured by His Students
Ahmad Budi Cahyono, honorary teacher at a high school (SMA) in Madura, died after being tortured by his students.
Ahmad rebuked a student with the initials MH, because it made a fuss in class.
Instead of being afraid, the male student was even more becoming and disturbing his friends.
Until finally, teacher Budi crossed the boy's cheek using paint.
MH actually did not accept and immediately hit his teacher.
Other students and teachers immediately intervened with them.
Then, Budi was taken to the teacher's room and explained the real problem to the principal.
Even though Budi was not physically injured, the headmaster invited him to go home, to rest at home.
Apparently when he was at home, Budi was unconscious, so he was rushed to a hospital in Surabaya.
Budi finally died, due to internal injuries suffered on Thursday (01/01/2018) night.
He was diagnosed with a brain stem death, allegedly due to persecution that happened to him.
His departure left a wife who was pregnant with her first child.
